Overview
The governing body for the Perry County Government is the Perry County Commissioners. The three Commissioners are elected for four-year terms.
Responsibilities
The Commissioners directly supervise department heads for all county services, which are not under the authority of the other elected officials. Their areas of responsibility include:
- Facility maintenance
- Health services
- Transfer Station
- Planning
- Roads
In addition, the Commissioners are responsible for:
- Adopting the annual budget and tax levy
- Meeting regularly in open meetings
- Approving and adopting all County contracts, agreements, and policies
- Appointing members of various County boards
